\nI feel that organizing information (such as the water flow example in your slides) in the form of a map can greatly familiarize students with a concept. As a future high school chemistry teacher, I definitely plan on using maps and foldables with my students for many concepts in class. It seems that many of our chapters have covered how students can organize information. Do you plan to use these types of aids in your class?","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[{"id":"36524714","body":"Hala,
\nI also agree similarities and differences work kind of like advanced organizers. They both help the student to organize information according to their understanding. Organizing information helps the student to retrieve the information easily when needed. And also as a teacher it would help us to measure the student's understand just by looking at the organizers used for example its easier to use a concept map or a Frayer models that give the student an essay.","dateCreated":"1301034511","smartDate":"Mar 24, 2011","userCreated":{"username":"Ebbybaby","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/Ebbybaby","imageUrl":"https:\/\/ssl.wikicdn.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"}}],"more":0}]},{"id":"36523742","dateCreated":"1301030120","smartDate":"Mar 24, 2011","userCreated":{"username":"Caseyb.crittenden","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/Caseyb.crittenden","imageUrl":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/pic\/1296425910\/Caseyb.crittenden-lg.jpg"},"monitored":false,"locked":false,"links":{"self":"https:\/\/klam-emeralds.wikispaces.com\/share\/view\/36523742"},"dateDigested":1532763006,"startDate":null,"sharedType":"discussion","title":"To Ebby","description":"Ebby,

\nYou're slides were very informative. It makes sense to me how classifying information can lead to better organization and thus understanding. How do mnemonic devices play into this area of study? I feel that using mnemonic devices especially in a math and science class can be crucial in the early stages of knowing and learning a concept.","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[],"more":0}]}],"more":false},"comments":[]},"http":{"code":200,"status":"OK"},"redirectUrl":null,"javascript":null,"notices":{"warning":[],"error":[],"info":[],"success":[]}}
